Our company hammer union has American trapezoidal thread ACME (transliteration to Aggressive), with different pipe diameters and different pitches. There are three types of ACME threads, which are general-purpose ACME threads, centered ACME threads and short-tooth ACME threads.
If it is difficult to use general-purpose ACME threads, such as occasional jamming between internal and external threads, you can use centered ACME threads. Short-tooth ACME threads are used only in very special situations where space is limited.
The buckle type used on the nut is general purpose or short tooth ACME thread. American-made ACME thread markings are composed of thread size code, feature code, tolerance zone code, inspection system code and rotation code.
The size code of single-line trapezoidal thread is "nominal diameter-number of teeth", and the unit of nominal diameter is inch. The dimension code of multi-line trapezoidal thread is "nominal diameter-pitch P-lead L", and the unit of nominal diameter, pitch and lead is inch.
The American ACME thread feature code is "ACME" The tolerance band code of American general purpose ACME thread is 2G, 3G and 4G. Thread characteristics are separated from the tolerance zone by a dash. The inspection system codes are (21), (22) and (23).
The left-hand thread should be marked with the "LH" code after the tolerance zone code. Right-hand threads are not marked with the direction code. Example of marking: American general-purpose ACME thread 1.750-4-ACME-2G (21) with right-handed single wire.
